these look like tier 3 missions, how about salvaging requires a system where better/harder/more awesome salvage ops have to be worked towards/earned. as in both skill points (after action salvaging, leading up to deep space salvaging) and an operations point counter (have to have salvaged this much/this many/these many points worth of stuff to proceed to the next level,) with higher/more rare stuff at the higher levels (deep space combat implant, +5% damage on all weapon damage/accuracy/range) .
in this way, CCP can start with the lower end, salvaging after a battle with something like this:
Time limit: 5-10 mins team: 8-10 on one team layout: the normal battle maps, with around 100 scattered pieces of wreckage/dropsuits/destroyed command modules (like supply depo's, CRU's and others.)
objective: the players are given a short time to "salvage" the gear in an attempt to gain salvage, some attempts may prove unsuccessful, and yield nothing, while others could hold great riches for the salvager.
each object class has a specific time to salvage: dropsuits: 5 sec's LAV's: 10 sec's Crates(random gear): 15 sec's HAV's: 30 sec's Dropships: 30 sec's command modules: 1m
rules: each "salvaged" object can only give out items of its type, and never something complete of itself (ie. Salvaging a HAV will not reward you with another HAV, LAV, or Dropship. . .Salvaging a dropsuit will never give you another dropsuit. . . BUT Salvaging a crate/CRU can give you dropsuits)
once someone begins salvaging an object, you cannot salvage it (yall are merc salvagers, after all, being paid to not kill each other and get loot)
salvaging will not get you WP salvaging that is not good enough to reward items will give isk instead
salvage missions can turn into combat situations, random encounters with NPC rogue drones (or similar) where higher level salvaging is possible. in this event, there will be low, medium, or high, levels of worker, soldier, or leader type drones. the point of such a scenario is to destroy the drones within the time limit. if not completed within time, players are rewarded with isk/gear gained from the drones (for hazardous operations breaching the contract of salvage) If completed in time, players will also get the entire fields worth of salvage, divided equally amongst the players.
At higher levels of salvaging ops there will be more difficult drones to kill, as well as different salvaging opportunities (crashed MCC with multiple salvage points, giving LAV's and the like as rewards. . .NULL cannon salvage points, max isk rewards, . . .intact deployable equipment)
use this as template for starter salvage ops, and the space stuff be flipping ridiculously awesome, with Rogue drone station infestations and the like.
